I am a theorist and a practitioner of the economics of theater. I graduated with MA degrees in economics as well as in cultural studies at the College of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in the Humanities, University of Warsaw. The field of my scientific expertise is cultural economics. My doctoral thesis, defended in 2019 at the Faculty of Economic Sciences, University of Warsaw, as well as most of my scientific articles are about non-market valuation of theater. I am trying to answer the question how valuable theater is for a society, thus what the proper level of public subsidies should be. I am deeply interested in the relationship between different kinds of value that can be assigned to theater: artistic, social, and economic. My research covers also a broader field of cultural policy and cultural management. I am teaching cultural economics, theater economics and theater production at the University of Warsaw and at the Academy of Dramatic Art in Warsaw. For ten years I have been a part of theater circles as a practitioner. I have been a production manager in Teatr Studio im. St. Witkiewicza in Warsaw since 2015, where I produced several performances.
